Revolution In Still Damp Grey

To some, the future still unknown beckons
The shouts heard from the streets that wind
through our imaginations

And time itself is a pause between two worlds
The known and the unknown

Impatiently we call out to time
let us try! we know how to bring Heaven to Earth
we can upheave history
destroy illusion
rewrite the human soul

So, electricity cracks across the sky
shattering faith in the past
thundering change
emancipating anger

bloody whispers in the halls
as the new cabinet takes its place

The thinkers become the new order
arranging the structure of the new institution
putting into practice
the vision, the dream, the ideal...

Rain beats the pavement washing the ruin
so that its fresh face looks almost innocent
the bright morning sun
announcing a new day

The day of theory

Today the usual system shall not be
Today we'll wear our workday inside out

Today what you own is owned by all
and you shall own what was owned by other men

you may vote on how to weild our common property
the thinkers shall ensure your verdict

The men stand tall on platforms and exclaim

Today we put into place
a fair system
a safe system
an eternal system
that shall reward all equally
and bring about a new kind of man

The shimmer of the sun on the newly erected order
blinds the exhuberant youth
the aging old buildings decay with disuse
and the old are incredulous

And time and men
march
neither willing to submit
to the wisdom of the past

And the burning rays of the fierce new order
crack the pavement under our feet
as we trod along implementing this ambitous system

the crumbling beneath us give some pause
but not wanting to lose hope
not willing to admit defeat
we are determined, unshakable, steadfast

And as the foundation of our world
turns to dust
we plod along resolute
we are in the right
it is reality which has betrayed us
abandoned us to this cruel hoax

This grey imitation of a new world
